Facebook Update and a little Ranting

I'm going to go ahead and get the ranting off my chest. Please forgive me if I sound a little peeved, but I am.

The other day I got a comment that I felt was rude. I have deleted it from my blog. I'm not going to say what it said, or who said it, but it was just one sentence that put down my project. And this person doesn't have their email address activated so I couldn't respond to resolve this....hence, the reason for this post. I like to keep my blog as an upbeat place. Everyone has struggles and stress that exist in their private lives, and I am no exception to that. So my blog is my happy place. It's my place to share my projects and encourage other people to be creative and do what they love. I feel like there is a little community surrounding blogging and that community is generally very supportive and uplifting. So from here on out, let's live by the golden rule, shall we?

If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all!!!

That concludes my rant. Sorry if that made you uncomfortable. Hopefully I won't have to do it again :)

Moving on to something more exciting...

I started a Facebook fan page for my blog about 6 weeks ago or so. I don't post on there all day long, but I keep it pretty updated. I hadn't really done anything to make it look pretty or be very welcoming, until now. Things are looking a little nicer over there. Won't you go check it out and like me, you know, if you want to???

You can click this link or follow me through the button on my sidebar.

Love you all bunches and bunches!! Have a great hump day!

  1. Doesn't it just suck when people do that? It's happened to me before. I always felt like my blog was like my journal, and if people want to read it, great! But it felt like an assault on my personality when someone left a rude comment without the guts to leave an email address, or even a name for that matter.

That being said, I'll give you the advice that someone gave me when the same thing happened. This is YOUR blog. Post what YOU want. And don't apologize for it :) After all, it's so much easier to just be rude to someone than it is to try a project yourself just to find that's it's not as easy as you thought.

I know I just kind of lurk and don't really comment much, but since changing jobs, I've only kept up with a handful of blogs that I really love, and yours is one of them. Keep doing what you do, girl!

  2. I've had a few like that. Mostly on controversial posts. I'm an absolute believer of the golden rule, especially on the internet. Hiding behind a screen while being nasty to others is just foul. Complete cowardice.

I'll go like your page right now! :)

  3. So sad that people can't just be kind. Sorry you had someone rude, I don't blame you at all for deleting it and saying something about it. Rude behavior shouldn't have to be tolerated. Certainly everyone is entitled to their opinion, but there's a civil way to go about expressing it.
