HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Hope everyone had a fun and safe new year last night! Mine was totally lame. I did the exact same thing I did last year, which was nothing. I sat in bed with the kid and crocheted a baby hat while we watched tv. And to make it worse, I accidentally missed the countdown...I was on the wrong channel. We started hearing fireworks and I checked my phone, it was 12. Oops, sorry kid....happy new year, time for bed. Then I spent another hour and a half watching the Kardashians (my guilty pleasure, shh don't tell).

So here we are in 2013. I don't neccesarily make resolutions, but there are a few things I need to work on personally this year. Also some goals I would like to accomplish. I had some rough times in 2012 and I'm hoping this year turns out to be better.

Since I've been absent from my blog for the last 6 months I thought I would catch you up my life through the eyes of Instagram. Here's what I've been doing....

I took a girls trip with my mom and sister to the lake. It was a really good weekend :)

Yep, I read all these books....and then started the Crossfire novels, which are along the same lines. Loved them all!

We went to more ball games this year than I can count.

I changed my hair color from the navy blue that it was, to this turquoise color.

Spent some time with the family at the water park.

Went to KC Irish Fest in the heaviest downpour ever!

Had some amazing craft beers brewed at my favorite brewery in KC.



Fell in a hole at my bff's house at her bachelorette party. Sprained ankle. Super fun to walk down the aisle in heels at her wedding! Took 2 months for this to heal :(

Enjoyed some blissful nights by the firepit.

These dogs crack me up! She falls asleep sitting up!

Mr. Perfect bought me a gorgeous orchid plant. I usually end up killing them after a few months, but they are so pretty to look at until then.

For 3 years we have not had a working overhead light in the kitchen. Don't ask me why it took us so long to just get a new light, but we finally did! What a difference that has made around here

Enjoyed a Vetereans Day celebration at the kiddo's school. My dad was invited to be honored. It was a special day, and I was happy to be able to go.

Sat through the kiddo's first violin performance of the year.

Raking, ugh, nuff said

Christmas!

Played a very competitive game of electronic Monopoly with the family.

Made super cute little tote bags to hold gifts for the nieces for Christmas

Really? Little dog is lucky old dog is so nice...

Had a dinner date with my kiddo. Finally convinced her to get something other than a gross cheeseburger at the mexican place we like to go to. Those tacos are the best!

Thanks to mom and dad for the new laptop for Christmas!!! Now I can blog again ;)

It snowed several inches yesterday. I thought it was just darling that these two were watching it together. Best friend love.

 

 

Hope you enjoyed some of the better things that have happened in the last 6 months. There was also some bad, lots of bad, but I won't get into that here. Hope everyone is enjoying the new year! I will be back very soon to show you some of the projects I have been working on around here :)

Insta Friday

I didn't do Insta Friday last week because I had no motivation and had spent the majority of my week at work. So this week I'm going to overload you with pictures haha. And only a few of them are of my dogs this time. Enjoy!

Party supplies for the kiddo's 11th birthday! Love me some dollar tree. See those cupcake liners? And see the darling flags that came with them?? The kids loved them!

Decorated! Don't they look great?? They were thrilled that I let them each have 2 and load them up with sprinkles and sugar! Then they had a race to see who could eat both of theirs the fastest --- hilarious!

This right here is what makes me the best step-mom ever :)  It almost made me cry.

The girls did a craft too. I made salt dough and they all made it into whatever they wanted and painted their creations. They had a blast doing it.

Mr. Perfect is on a softball league. It was unbearably hot out, like 100 at 2pm. Ugh. Good news was the other team didn't show, so we won by default and didn't even have to play. Yay!

We were at the the game long enough for me to put this down. I'm not gonna lie, it was delicious.

After the game we took our pool over to our friends driveway where they have their pool and we had a little whitetrash party. It was awesome!

My mom bought this ring for me a couple weeks ago on her trip to Branson. I think it's pretty sweet!

My sweet baby will put her head on the edge of the couch and leave it there until you let her get up. It's the most precious thing ever! She's just so stinkin cute!!

And really......it's only June. BUT, I will not complain very much about this because I despise winter with all my being. I would take this 3 digit number over a single digit number every day of the year --- hands down!

We are going out of town tomorrow to visit some family. I'm really excited about it. I have the next 11 days off work!! One trip this weekend and part of next week. Then another trip next weekend with my mom and sis to the lake!! So I apologize in advance for the lack of posts next week. If I was a super cool blogger I would have done some posts in advance, but sadly, I am not that cool.

Insta Friday

I took a lot more pictures  with my phone this week than I thought I did haha. I feel good about it though. Got some good shots.

So I had my blood drawn {for what feels like the millionth time} and as I was walking out of the room, I felt this odd warm feeling on my arm. Yeah, blood --- all the way down to my wrist!! It was sick. The little cotton ball slipped when she taped it to my arm and I bled out. So I got the hefty purple wrap to keep it in place. I think I'll be ok if that NEVER happens again in my life.

These guys have a little blue grass band and they played some really hilarious music for us after the tournament.

Um yeah, this is what my day came to on Tuesday. Stress, hormones, the kiddo, it all just pushed my last button. I'm not gonna lie, this wasn't my only shot.

You might have seen this picture on facebook if you follow me there. I've never used RIT Dye in my life --- until this week. I'm in love with the stuff now. I've been thinking of all kinds of things I can dye besides this skirt. Doesn't this picture look so ethereal? Like a ghost or something is going to appear any second!

Where I live there are miles and miles and miles and miles of trails like this. They wind all through the county in and behind neighborhoods. Part of it runs right by us, so we took the pups for a super long walk. I wore flip flops {FAIL} and now I have a couple lovely blisters. But the walk was gorgeous and the pups needed the exercise.

Whenever the dogs ears end up flipped the wrong way we refer to it as them "wearing their barrettes" {haha}. So I couldn't resist this picture of the two of them on our walk with one barrette in. Too cute!

Are you sick of seeing pictures of my dogs each week??? No? Good, then I'll continue. I don't have a cute baby to take pictures of, so the fur babies it is.
