I saw this yarn covered number

Cute, right?
So I put my own spin on it
I made this sketch
I transferred it to poster board and cut it out
Then I wrapped it in yarn.
First brown, then turquoise, the a little more brown
It's kinda hard to see the colors real well because I hung it at the end of my hallway
ie...NO natural light...ugh
I "love" it hehe
Super duper easy project, but VERY time consuming!
Hope you likey!
Much Love~

I do likey!! Turned out very cute and it looks great with the other colors! Awesome job.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to get a block letter "S" (my last name is Standage) but all the ones at hobby lobby/michaels/joanns are either too big, too small, or too ugly. Sigh.
This is super cute!! I "LOVE" it too!!
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with yarn crafts...even though it is time consuming and your arm just about falls off from all the wrapping it's worth it.
Your newest follower!
This looks so elegant! I love it, and it would look great in a children's room with their name too.
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous and so creative! LOVE! I am a new follower from DIY Under $5. Vicky @ www.messforless.net
ReplyDeleteHow did you hang it? Would think that it would be difficult to hang and keep level, but it doesn't look like you had any problems! Looks great!
ReplyDelete"love" this! Great idea with the two colors of yarn. Thanks for linking up with DIY under $5!
ReplyDelete@Aubrey
ReplyDeleteI actually hung it with a couple of sewing pins. The yarn hides the colored ball on top and the whole thing is so light-weight that the pins is enough support.
Love your project! I just wanted to let you know that I featured it today on my blog Sew Rockin'. You can check it out at: http://www.sewrockin.com/2011/12/09/you-sew-rock-me-fridays-8/
ReplyDeleteAwesome job, I can't wait to see what else you come up with!
